What's New as of January 1st... Wow! The last 8 weeks have been busy!! The good news is most of what was new and super awesome arrived at the start of November so if you actually read this column you didn't miss much. There are however some must see goodies that have arrived recently, and here's the breakdown: Aerial7 Headphones have finally arrived in Canada and are available now! A7 makes one of the most sought after high-end DJ phones in the world - the TANK - as well as some stuff for the rest of us, like the Matador, the Chopper, and the Sumo earbud. These mega-phones are all compatible with your iPhone as well, due to an integrated microphone, so you can use 'em like a hands-free headset. Sorry - not only do they not look as cool, but your Skullcandy and Nixon headphones are just a crappy fashion accessory compared to these real deal beat bombers... The 10 Foot Banshee Bungees arrived just before Christmas, so if you want to get your close-quarters jib on, you are good to go. I'll assume there's no way you'd be reading this if you didn't know what a Banshee Bungee is... The super Limited Edition Technine Enforcer snowboard is in stock at Blank, and is almost sold out! This killer reverse camber deck from Technine is the business, and comes with a knockout Air Force 1 shoe graphic. Don't miss this board! The DROP Verde Series (Green Series) gloves are in, and keep your hands smokin' hot, while being chill on the environment. Made out of a plethora of recycled and reconstituted materials, this glove series, and DROP in general, is definitely making an effort towards keeping the climate favourable.
What's New as of November 11th... Don't I look like an ass for not updating this more! The store has literally rotated its entire stock twice in the last month, so here's a go over of what's been in, what's here, and what's coming... The biggest news has got to be Banshee Bungee. The Banshee is probably what you think it is: a gigantic bungee cord that you attach to something 100 feet in front of you, stretch it out, and allow it to pull you unassisted up to 50 k/ph, thus eliminating the need for a drop in ramp or hill of any kind. If you have seen any vids this season, you have seen the Banshee in action. By the way don't look for it at those other shops, because they are exclusive to BLANK (and the Source, but they don't really count 'cause they're from CALGARY...) The world's #1 freestyle/jib board - the Signal Park Rocker - is back in stock so come pick yours up today. The Rocker is an unreal 3 stage rocker board that pushes the design envelope, as opposed to photocopying it... Bataleon Snowboards and they're swish TBT (Triple Base Technology) are in stock again and await someone just like you to try one out. Bataleon is a small company that you might not of heard of, but that's what the best companies are like, so don't be afraid... All the Flow and Flux bindings are sold out right now, because they are frikin awesome, but we'll get more in shortly, I promise. Celcius, aka the best boots EVER, will be in stock on Friday. No longer do you have to wonder about what these magical boots look like, or if the actually exist, as Blank will be receiving 80 pairs. Might have been a little bit drunk when that order was made, but whatever - Celcius kicks ass.
What's New as of October 7th... Wow - haven't updated this for a while - my bad. Geez, what isn't new!? Technine everything baby. Blank is Technine central for reals. Pro bindings from MFM, Magoon, and Chamberlain are on the shelves, absolutely sick outerwear is hanging from the rafters, and the gnarliest street approved freestyle boards are everywhere!! Damn its getting full in here! Elm Company headwear is here and looks unreal - get yours today hipster. You don't want to be the only Videograsser on the street this weekend without your Elm.
What's New as of September 2nd... Where to start... Well how about IPath Shoes. Stoners unit!! IPath is the original earth friendly skate shoe who's release in 1999 changed the way we look at shoe design. They will be hittin the shelves early next week, but you can come and pick yours out NOW... Sector 9 Longboards are on the way, and there will be some great end of season deals. That's right - deals - because we can do that here... The lightest snowboard helmet IN THE WORLD is now at Blank! Here's a hint: its not a Pro-tec, a Capix, and it sure as hell is not made by Burton. Come see fo yourself... Imperial Motion Fall is ready to find its way into your closet NOW. If you aren't into Imperial, you are probably one of those losers who wears shit from mall-ish "skateshops".
What's New as of August 12th... Transworld Skateboarding's 21st video Right Foot Forward has just hit the shelf and it is mega! RFF is available in a limited editon pack which includes a poster, sheet of Mob tape, a companion photo mini-book, an INDY patch, and of course the feature film on DVD. Come get your copy today - this video is goddam sick... VOX fall '09 product has arrived. The Gravette shoe in black/slime green and Oyola mid in Blue Collar are not to be missed. VOX also makes some very snappy tshirts with bad words, rock band logos, and gentle reminders about fishing... Dogtown Skateboards and longboards have also found a place on the wall here at Blank. I'm sure almost anyone reading this would have seen one the Dogtown docs/movies of the last 6 years, and thus it shouldn't require explaining why this is kind of a big deal...
What's New as of August 5th... Smith Optics are now available at Blank Skateboards! Smith makes the industry's highest quality sunglasses, snow goggles, and helmets. It is safe to say Smith is probably the 2nd most popular optics company out there! OGIO bags and accesories have also arrived at Blank. OGIO makes the nicest skate, snow and travel bags, and some unreal women's handbag/purse type things. If you are a girl, you should come and see them... There should be some new Blank Skateboards logo Ts available shortly (finally) that, like everything else here, will be a lot more f**king fun then most other stuff you would find at other shops.
What's New as of July 25th... Stereo Skateboards are in full swing again and Blank is happy to support Earl Hickey aka JASON LEE however we can. If you haven't yet, check out the sweet ass OBEY Records - Stereo colabs available now! HYPE Skateboards (formerly Popwar...kind of) are finally available too. The shapes are nice and they are light - like really light. Blank local ripper Raleigh is very impessed with them and has just told me he plans to buy it when I stop typing... Blank just received a new stock of Santa Cruz Longboards and Cruzers. If you want to avoid the new pretentious class of longboarding, these affordable and amazing boards are just the ticket!
What's New as of July 21st... Roger Skateboards have started showing up at Blank, and not a moment too soon. This is another one of those companies we carry that most people won't understand because let's face it - most of you hate fun and anything that's different... Saxx Underwear is now available and we guarantee that your junk will never be happier. Simply put, Saxx contact-free underwear has a mesh lining that keeps your nuts from rubbing on your legs. Enough said... Blank is sponsoring the ROGUE 3 Longboard Race this August in Edmonton. This shit is crazy and we couldn't be happier to be a part of it...
